Sen Lek Thai Noodles

This is one of the best resto discovery this January (so far).

While cruising President Avenue in BF Paranaque, C spotted Dong Juan, which she excitedly says was originally from Cebu. We would've eaten there but I said that since she already had an idea on what the food tastes like (with happy food memories, too), I sugessted we eat in a "new" restaurant so that we can rave or rant about it later on. Besides, both of us know that BF Paranaque is famous for its numerous restaurants. Initially, I was trying to recall the name of a Japanese resto that I've read in another blog but all I remember was Aguirre Avenue. And we saw the street (avenue) alright but we didn't see any Japanese-looking restaurant and we were already at the park/playground. Or maybe we made a wrong turn somewhere. And because we were famished, we decided to head back to an Italian resto that we saw earlier along President Avenue. Then we saw Dong Juan again and beside it was Sen Lek Thai Noodles. Hmmm ... looks interesting. And with herbs and spices for good health, too! Nah, we're not heath-food buffs. Just your regular foodies. ;)

Viva Pit Senyor

January 20, 2013
Intramuros, Manila

Because we've been craving for some crispy pata, and because we've already been to Greenhills the night before- hubby, daughter and I agreed to have merienda cena at Ristorante delle Mitre in Intramuros. Also, I've been itching to practice my photography skills which I think (and feel) have gotten rusty.

Daughter and I chanced upon an ati-atihan group practicing in the baluarte near father blanco's garden. And they're wearing colorful costumes. Upon closer inspection, most of them had Sto. Nino. Perfect! Sinulog Festival, Intramuros Edition ;)

RECIPE: Pork Steak

January 18, 2013

Hubby and daughter loves pork/beef steak especially if it has tons of onions and calamansi. Alas, after yaya left us (indefinite leave), there's no one to turn to when they crave for pork/beef steak and other fried dishes. Frying is my waterloo!!!

So one night, I gathered up my courage after finding some meat in the fridge.

4-5 pcs of porkchop
10 pcs of calamansi
2 onions
soy sauce
vinegar
ground pepper
salt

Breakfast and Prayers

January 16, 2013

I love unplanned breakfast dates.

C and I got lucky because her daughter has dance practice until 2pm today (no need to rush back during lunchtime). So after dropping the kids off to school, we were on our way to the south. And lucky again because there's no traffic.

This is the view that greeted us while we were waiting for our breakfast (Bag of Beans, near Tagaytay Rotonda). Such a foggy day. The air was cold but we were armed with jackets and shawls. Not-gonna-freeze-today-not-like-the-last-time!

FOOD FINDS: Ongpin Edition

January 18, 2013

I have some errands to do in Ongpin today so I texted C & J if they want to join me for lunch at WaiYing. However, something came up in-between and I left the house a bit later than planned and C needed to go back to the office. Also, J already ate at LingNam (she got hungry while waiting for me!). Uh oh!

Lunch will have to wait, then. J and I met somewhere in Soler and she mentioned about seeing a Hello Kitty store just in front of WaiYing. Wow, have-to-visit-that-store. Saw a lot of nice looking items but we didn't buy anything (I wonder why?). There's even a cutey camera case that J wanted to buy except that its too small.

Ahoy!

January 10, 2013

I was fortunate to be a part of Business Mirror's crew to step on board the famous Sedov, a Russian ship which was currently docked in Manila until January 12, 2012. And we were also the first ones being given permission to step foot and explore the ship. Yey!

Italliani's Date and Astro-Clock 2013

December 27, 2012

Forgot to post this! Hahaha

Today, daughter and I had a nice date in Taguig. Actually, we ran some errands for hubby and we ended up going to EchoStore in Serendra to deliver some of hubby's book --- Medieval Astro-Clock 2013.

Food For The Soul

January 2, 2013

This was an unplanned "outing" with C. Actually, more like a super delayed visit to Monasterio de Sta Clara since we've been talking about visiting the church last November 2012. And yes, the world didn't end- yet. So we were able to visit it today. And I thank my built-in map navigator inside my head because it was my first time to visit the church also and I don't know how to go there. Hahaha. But we didn't get lost. Daughter joined us, by the way, because hubby met up with some clients and I don't want to leave daughter all alone (with the computer) in the house (which she likes!). Luckily, her tita C bribed her with food (Greeka) so she ended up with us.

Happy New Year

May 2013 brings us the joys that warms our heart. Happy New Year from my family to yours. :)
