For the whole month of September, dimsum-lovers can avail of Crystal Jade Shanghai Delight's Weekday Dimsum Plus Buffet from 6pm-9:30pm Monday to Friday for only P488+. And for an additional P100, you can also add a serving of Chef's recommendation dish, unlimited fried rice and free-flowing iced or hot tea.
Here's what's included on the dimsum buffet ...
Pork Dumpling with Hot Chili Sauce. It has a generous and flavorful meat inside. Thumbs up! You'll crave for more bites, promise!
Cold Cucumber with Minced Garlic in Sesame Oil. Now I could create poetry out of this. Having a bite or two cleanses and refreshes the palate so that you can enjoy more the other choices from the dimsum menu.
Noodle with Spring Onion Oil. Do not underestimate this plain-looking noodle. The secret is in the freshly-made noodle and the broth itself. I bet you'll order another bowl after this. ;)
Deep-fried Spring Roll. Crunchy and satisfying. Best paired with congee except that I can't eat congee anymore. *sigh*
Xiao Long Bao. This is Crystal Jade's famous xiao long bao. To the uninitiated, xiao long bao is dumpling with soup. The soup is inside the dumpling itself so avoid plopping one into your mouth unless you're sure that its not too hot anymore. Or, you can bite a tiny hole on top to let out some of the steam. This is definitely a winner!
Steamed Vegetable Dumpling. If you're familiar with the "chinese" amoy lumpia, that's how it taste like, minus the peanuts and the lettuce. Delightful dumpling especially for the health-conscious.
Chicken Feet. I know many love this and I'm sure its delicious but I just can't seem to eat this. Same with balut. Don't ask why.
Pan-fried Carrot Cake with Dried Shrimp and Preserved Meat. Some call this raddish cake. I only learned how to eat this several years ago at my daughter's school during.
Pan-fried Shanghai Pork Bun. I love this especially with the hoisin that it comes with.
Congee with Salted Pork and Preserved Egg. I used to eat this- a lot. I love congee. Sometimes I ask myself if my decision to remove rice from my diet is worth it.
Steamed Spareribs with Black Beans. This is love. Another favorite of mine. Meat is very tender. Add some chili oil to enhance the flavor and you'll eat more congee or fried rice. ;)
Here are the choices from the PLUS menu:
Deep Fried Chicken with Dried Chili and Peanuts. Really bursting with flavor and spices. Just avoid eating the chili seeds and it won't be that hot!
Sauteed Prawn Kung Pao Style. Another favorite of mine. I can feast on this all day. :)
Sauteed Diced String Beans with Minced Pork served with Pancake. The beans and meat are good as it is even without the pancake. But I the pancake tasted nice too. Goodbye diet!
Braised Home Style Beancurd with Mushroom. A very light but filling dish. What I love about beancurd is that you can really eat a lot without feeling guilty about the calories.
Fried Rice with Chicken and Ham.
Sauteed Squid with Broccoli. Yum! The squid is tender and well, I love veggies.
The Chef also shared with us his latest dessert masterpiece although I'm not sure if I can divulge it yet. But it was so good I finished it off even if I'm already full from the dimsum plus buffet.
