Bellysima Food Fair: Up Close and Personal

I always enjoy going to food fairs because this is where I discover new food vendors and yummy food finds. So last week, my daughter and I met up with some cousins at Glorietta 5 to check out Bellysima Food Fair. Bellysima is under the Mercato Centrale group. However, some will rejoice because Bellysima only runs during mall hours and its inside the mall, too so its much more convenient to shop.

Here are my food finds --

Chicharon from Apag Marangle. I have an aversion to dark-colored chicharon because I always thought its "malansa" but this chicharon from Apag Marangle changed my mind. I was thinking of using the chicharon for our favorite monggo dish but fell in love upon first bite. Now I only have a few pieces left (I don't even want to share- haha). Btw, it doesn't seem taste like its coated with fat when I eat it straight from the chiller. Yes, I hid the chicharon in the chiller. ;) Glad that Friday and Saturday are Bellysima days!

CEBU: Zubuchon

This is my first time to dine at Zubuchon although I've tasted their lechon and chicharon for more than several occasions already. The Escario branch is near the Capitol and also near to where I was staying.

Tummy Pleasures

Had a nice time chatting with C over buffet breakfast today at Ramada Central Manila. Lucky me- I got to eat (a lot) their crunchy bacon and french toast.

Sorry, no photos of the buffet spread. I had a hard time waking early lately because of the sweltering summer heat. It's like being inside the oven almost every day.

Chicharon Ni Mang Juan

This is Jack n Jill's answer to Marty's. I kinda like Mang Juan's. Some even claim that its vegetarian chicharon! Lol

Chicharon Cebu

I love chicharon from Cebu. And from time to time, I buy Chicharitos or Nunie's from the grocery. The one on the pics however, were given by a friend who hails from Cebu. It's a bit malansa compared with Chicharitos and Nunie's and the ones that i've tasted from Carcar- the town of lechons and chicharons!
Chicharon

Who doesn't love chicharon?
Nevermind if it is laden with cholesterol. Nevermind if the cholesterol will block your arteries. Nevermind if its sinful because it is chicharon.

These lovelies were given by a friend and it came from Cagayan de Oro City. It's not readily available in Metro Manila so I forced myself to savor every bite. Tastes great! Not oily. Waiting for my next stash! *hint* *hint* Hahaha
