Proud Mommy :)

Daughter's Toycon 2013 Experience just got published in Manila Bulletin, Fun Page Section (6.29.13).

Congratulations, Baba !!!

Hubby and I discovered her knack for writing about three years ago but it is only now that she was able to write for a publication. I believe that there is a perfect time for everything and for daughter's writing talent, it is just ripening now. I will let her discover her talents on her own but I will guide her from behind, and give her a little push every now and then. Besides, she is still a kid and has so many years ahead of her. She needs to enjoy being a kid without any pressure whatsoever.

Cheers!

Scenes From TOYCON 2013

Its been set and decided, written in blood (imaginary) that daughter and I would attend the Toycon at SM Megamall since attending the launch at the Newport Mall last May. Please see TOYCON Launch post here.

So today, on Father's Day-- daughter and I went to Megamall sans hubby. Will meet him for dinner in Shang- yey!

Lots of people when we arrive. The Megatrade hall crowd and cool items will turn Divisoria to shame. ;)

TOYCON 2013 Launch

Daughter and I have been planning to attend a toycon for years now but we haven't been able to attend one until yesterday. And Toycon Philippines is already on its 12th year!

We arrive a bit early so we enjoyed looking the displays and tiangge sans the crowd.

The superheroes display was conveniently located at the ground floor, just near the main entrance and beside the escalators. I don't know all the names of the superheroes except a few like Superman, Thor, Hulk, Iron Man, Voltes V Base (hahaha, my age is showing!). Anyways, it was fun to take photos and reminiscing what its like to read comic books or watch related films. As for daughter, she can't relate to the superheroes thingy.

EVENT: TOYCON 2013

Daughter and I got so excited when I saw RWM's fb post earlier today. TOYCON 2013 at the Newport Mall.

You see, daughter loves watching animes and reading mangas and is also a frustrated cosplayer. Nah, she haven't joined one yet except that she dressed up (or rather I dressed her up) as Sadako when she's still in nursery (trick-or-treat event in school), if that counts. Of course, most of her classmates were dressed up as princesses, fairies, pirates, winnie the pooh characters, etc. All cutey cuteys so she was not happy with her costume; but she did win a price for being the scariest. Hahaha

Then several years back (2008), we attended the debut party of a friend's daughter and theme was cosplay. Yey! Unfortunately though, guests weren't asked to come in costume and I have a small part on the program since the celebrant- Alexis, is my goddaughter.

The early birds posing in front of the camera. These kids belongs to the first cosplayers group in the country and most of them are professional cosplayers now.
