Chuwariwap Girls Dinner

J celebrated her birthday last night at Basix and just for fun's sake, we dressed up in 1920's inspired fashion. We had so much fun especially when C arrived in Cinderella-fashion (sans Prince Charming) and J regaled us with Shades of Grey tales. I admit I haven't read the book yet but I just might give it a try. Hahaha

My first stop was at the cheese table. Yum! Then I paired it with some dinner rolls. Can't help myself but go back for a second round, sans bread.

Cold cuts and seafood selection and salad bar.

Dessert Table. I love the chocolate fountain. Had three pieces of marshmallows coated with chocolate. Yum!

Shrimps in Garlic and Butter Sauce and Baked Mussels. So good! Nice if paired with wine, though. We drank liters of green tea. Hahaha

Roast Beef, Potato Gratin, Pita and Hummus and Veggies. My medium-well roast beef is perfect with the potatoes. I wish I had eaten more roast beef.

Mango Ice Cream.  Something's not really mango-ey with the ice-cream. It lacks the flavor that I'm craving for. But the cheese and dried fruit makes up for it. Especially the cheese! ;)

NEW RESTO ALERT: Saigosan in Uptown Mall

Konnichiwa Saigosan! A new and funky izakaya recently opened at Uptown Mall headed by Chef Chris Oronce. This izakaya not only serves delectable dishes but is also a visual-feast. Inspired by animes, mangas, and JPop culture, Saigosan even has a train wherein you can hop from Kyoto to Osaka without a JR Pass!

NEW RESTO ALERT: Hà Nội Phố (Ha Noi Pho)

Makati has been a go-to place for my family and I to grab a meal or sometimes just to have a cup of coffee. Though, really, it’s mostly just us visiting our favorite spots. Recently, my mom went out of town so it was just my dad and I who went out for dinner.

Salcedo Market x Legaspi Market Tour

We haven't visited the weekend markets for years so I was giddy with excitement because I was able to visit both Salcedo and Legaspi markets this month, thanks to our Dusit Thani Manila staycation . To differentiate the two, Salcedo market  is held every Saturday at the Jaime Velasquez Park in Salcedo Village Makati while Legaspi market is held every Sunday at the Corinthian Carpark in Legaspi Village Makati. Since we were coming from Dusit Thani Manila, it was quite a long walk but it was early in the morning (around 8AM) and even Ayala and Makati Avenues were still without cars. Wow!
