NEW RESTO ALERT: Tuan Tuan Chinese Brasserie

Been hearing good reviews about Tuan Tuan Chinese Brasserie in SM Megamall but since we don't really frequent that mall, we haven't dined at Tuan Tuan until early this year and not in SM Megamall but at the restaurant's new branch in Powerplant Mall.

Met up with college friends and their kids the day after New Year at Power Plant Mall and we all agreed to have lunch at Tuan Tuan Chinese Brasserie.

The interiors are lovely but the restaurant was quite full when we dined so I wasn't able to take photos except this wall near our table.

Crispy Barbeque Pork Snow Buns, P148. Tastes good but you need to eat it while its warm otherwise, the outer layer tends to harden up if it gets cold. The meat filling is flavorful and has the right amount of spice. I can't wait to try the one with duck next time.

U.S. Angus Steak with Black Pepper Sauce and Mushrooms, P388. My daughter ordered this, anything with "steak" is okay with her. Order is good for sharing although she was able to wipe it all out. The meat is tender and I like the black pepper sauce. Thumbs up!

House Special Trio ((Baked Seafood Wild Mushroom/Pork Chop), P398. Looks unflattering but it is quite delicious. A nice mix of healthy (fish) and indulgent (pork chop) dish. Serving is good for sharing also.

Horlicks Milk, P88. Weren't thinking of ordering drinks since we plan to have dessert at The Dessert Factory but when I saw this on the menu, wow! Horlicks brought back a lot of happy childhood memories. The cup and saucer are also photogenic and Instagramable. After having a cup of this, I am now bent on finding a jar of Horlicks. ;)

Here's the 'Burp Team.' :D

NEW RESTO ALERT: Saigosan in Uptown Mall

Konnichiwa Saigosan! A new and funky izakaya recently opened at Uptown Mall headed by Chef Chris Oronce. This izakaya not only serves delectable dishes but is also a visual-feast. Inspired by animes, mangas, and JPop culture, Saigosan even has a train wherein you can hop from Kyoto to Osaka without a JR Pass!

Salcedo Market x Legaspi Market Tour

We haven't visited the weekend markets for years so I was giddy with excitement because I was able to visit both Salcedo and Legaspi markets this month, thanks to our Dusit Thani Manila staycation . To differentiate the two, Salcedo market  is held every Saturday at the Jaime Velasquez Park in Salcedo Village Makati while Legaspi market is held every Sunday at the Corinthian Carpark in Legaspi Village Makati. Since we were coming from Dusit Thani Manila, it was quite a long walk but it was early in the morning (around 8AM) and even Ayala and Makati Avenues were still without cars. Wow!

NEW RESTO ALERT: Hà Nội Phố (Ha Noi Pho)

Makati has been a go-to place for my family and I to grab a meal or sometimes just to have a cup of coffee. Though, really, it’s mostly just us visiting our favorite spots. Recently, my mom went out of town so it was just my dad and I who went out for dinner.
