Classic Favorites at Eatigo

Food plays an important role in almost all Filipino family. Dining out when there's a family gathering or celebrating something or even simply dining out is a habit hard to break. Good food and restaurant becomes synonymous with great memories and priceless moments.

Alas, dining out can sometimes create a dent in our pockets but Eatigo, Asia's leading online reservation app gives out great dining discounts up to 50% off on favorite participating restaurants.

A familiar choice from Eatigo would be Pancake House. This breakfast staple has been around since the 1970’s, inviting customers in with their vibrant orange and pink booths. But the real stars of this diner are the fluffy pancakes and succulent fried chicken which have catered to hungry bellies across all generations, from children up to their grandparents.
Another mouth-watering option would be Barrio Fiesta’s special Crispy Pata and cult-favorite Kare-Kare. The pork knuckles fried until golden and crisp, along with the delicious mix of simmered oxtail, veggies, and savoury peanut-based sauce make this humble restaurant an easy “Yes!” from customers up to this day.
For a taste of Italy in Manila, Amici and The Old Spaghetti House are the way to go. Amici’s diverse pizza selection is perfect for group meals, while The Old Spaghetti House offers premium pasta medleys born from traditional family recipes.

Inspired by turn-of-the-century Filipino dining, Crisostomo pays homage to the Spanish, American, Japanese, and Chinese cultures that have made their way to our local cuisine. Whereas Cebu-grown Hukad serves up Filipino favourites and authentic regional dishes like Crispy Pata, Baked Bantayan Scallops, Pork Humba and Lechon Belly that has everyone coming back for seconds.

Here’s the good news: all of these delectable restaurants are conveniently available on Eatigo, bringing you exclusive deals that let you slash up to half-off your total bill. Just make sure to download the app from the App Store or Google Play, create and account, and start browsing from the many, many deals they offer.

Boracay's Hidden Gem: Mama's Fish House

I've always wanted to dine at Mama's Fish House in Boracay but wasn't able to for some forgotten reasons already. Then the pandemic happened and we're in lockdown or limited travel movement for almost two years. And guess what? One of the nicest thing to happen on our recent trip to Boracay was to discover that Mama's Fish House was located just outside the beach front of our hotel- Microtel by Wyndham Boracay . Talk about serendipity!

RECIPE: TKG's Pan-Grilled Maya-Maya With Calamansi Butter Sauce

I chanced upon some fresh-looking Maya-Maya being sold near my daughter's school today so I bought some. I don't really have a dish in mind when I bought it. Maybe fried, sinigang ... And upon checking the fridge and pantry (no more olive oil), I decided to marinate the fish in calamansi to remove the fishy taste. I pan-grilled the fish being careful not to burn it. Then I minced some garlic, cooked it in butter, added some salt and poured the sauce on top of the fish. And its ready to eat. And oh, I also steamed some cauliflower as a side-dish. Bon appetit!
