It's 100% Plant-based unMEAT

There's been a change and conscious effort to eat healthily and maintain a healthy lifestyle even before the pandemic struck. People suddenly become aware that they prefer more fruits and veggies in their diet. This is true for both the older and younger generation.

Now this is where it gets more exciting because unMEAT is the newest healthy non-meat alternative that is both delicious, affordable, and easy-to-prepare.

Century Pacific Food Inc., introduces us to unMEAT, a 100% plant-based meat that's made tasty from simple ingredients.

"One of the biggest concerns about plant-based foods is that they are not delicious or as pleasing to the palate as real meat," said Nikki Dizon, Senior Executive at CNPF. "But our Nutrition Science team took that as a challenge, and completely delivered by coming up with a meat alternative that unbelievably and undeniably looks, feels, and tastes like meat. Moreover, they made unMEAT using simple ingredients and extracted the nutrients from real food rather than synthetic compounds so it's healthier and more affordable."

The launch was brought about by the clamor for healthier food options especially in this time of pandemic. This is evident in the shift of food trends on social media. Whereas in the past, food aficionados across the globe constantly debated on the best burgers, social media is not filled with discussions on which plant-based burger looks, tastes, smells, and even bleeds like real meat.

Taste is never compromised and unMEAT is the best meat alternative for those who are conscious about having a healthy diet. unMEAT is packed with simply but nutritious ingredients. It is a good source of fiber and protein. It's also cholesterol-free, trans fat-free, egg-free, and dairy-free.

Chef Sau del Rosario was among the first to sample unMEAT and he described it as "The taste is like you got it from the oven. It's tasty, it's clean, and it's very delicious. I would put this in my menu.!"

It comes in four variants: Nuggets, Hungarian Sausages, Minced Meat, and Burger Patty. CNPF aims to market the range as close to the price of real meat counterparts in keeping with its goal of providing affordable nutrition.

unMEAT was first introduced through Shakey's Pizza's newest offering, the Good Burger. It has since attracted a small cult following in the few weeks it has top-billed Shakey's Pizza's chain's foray to burgers.

With the launch of unMEAT, consumers has now an easy access to healthy and tasty 100% plant-based food options that is now available nationwide in supermarkets, specialty stores and online shopping platforms.

RECIPE: TKG's Pan-Grilled Maya-Maya With Calamansi Butter Sauce

I chanced upon some fresh-looking Maya-Maya being sold near my daughter's school today so I bought some. I don't really have a dish in mind when I bought it. Maybe fried, sinigang ... And upon checking the fridge and pantry (no more olive oil), I decided to marinate the fish in calamansi to remove the fishy taste. I pan-grilled the fish being careful not to burn it. Then I minced some garlic, cooked it in butter, added some salt and poured the sauce on top of the fish. And its ready to eat. And oh, I also steamed some cauliflower as a side-dish. Bon appetit!

Boracay's Hidden Gem: Mama's Fish House

I've always wanted to dine at Mama's Fish House in Boracay but wasn't able to for some forgotten reasons already. Then the pandemic happened and we're in lockdown or limited travel movement for almost two years. And guess what? One of the nicest thing to happen on our recent trip to Boracay was to discover that Mama's Fish House was located just outside the beach front of our hotel- Microtel by Wyndham Boracay . Talk about serendipity!
