A Fiesta !!!

It was a rainy Wednesday morning but the weather didn't dampen the fiesta mood at the Grand Opening of Binalot Harrison Plaza Branch. And according to our elders --- a rain is a blessing. :)

"

This fiesta-scene reminds me of Larry Alcala. And Binalot is exactly just like that- A Fiesta! It is a place of food, merriment, and camaraderie. A hodgepodge of all the good things that is akin to Filipinos.

Casa Roces

Casa Roces is an old house in Malacanang district that was converted into a restaurant. The interiors was a combination of old and new. It opened to the public late last year (2011).

I was with my three mommy-mates so we ordered a dish each. I wasn't able to eat breakfast so I ordered the beef tapa (3rd photo from top) or tapsilog in carinderia term. The beef was flavorful and tender. I don't like my eggs runny so the sunny side-up didn't meet my expectation but since I didn't tell the waiter that I wanted it well-done, I'm at fault.
Over all verdict--- excellent!

Cafe Mamia

I haven't been to Dumaguete City since the early 90's and was very excited about our trip. Predictably, food overrules the tourist spots in the city. After arriving from our early morning flight, we freshened up a bit and headed off to Cafe Mamia for breakfast.
