Solaire North hasn't yet marked its 1 year but it has already gaining strength as one of the go-to places in Quezon City.
It was only this year that I was able to go to Solaire North, thanks to an event hosted by HONOR Philippines. It was a four-course dinner and it has its fair share of hits and miss. But the overall experience is good, so I am looking forward to future meals at Solaire North.
For starters, we were served- Louisiana Style Crab Cake, Grilled Endive with Lemon Mayo Sriracha Sauce. Super love this especially the crab cake which super filling and didn't crimp. The endive though needs to be grilled a bit for a more flavorful experience but it taste okay with the sauce.
Soup is Truffle & Mushroom. Another winner here! I love how the truffle taste doesn't overpower the mushroom. And I was surprise that it is not 'heavy' on the palate. Bread rolls and yummy French butter was served prior to the soup.
For Mains, we had Pepper Crusted Beef Tenderloin, Grilled Peppers, Truffled Mashed Potato, Roasted Baby Carrot, Port Wine Jus. If you look closely at the photo, I think they change the pepper crusted to tomato purée. And it was asparagus instead of grilled peppers. The beef was tender but it was overcooked in most part which I think was sad. It also lack some flavors but the port wine jus made up for it. I guess serving a big number of guests played a big factor on how the steak would turn out.
As for dessert, the Hazelnut Dacquoise, Poached Pear, Salted Caramel Sauce and Chocolate Ice Cream reminds me of a reconstructed Ferrero Rocher. So good especially the ice cream and salted caramel sauce. I did skip the hazelnut dacquoise after two bites because the nuts doesn't taste 'fresh.' As for the poached pear, I think it was just an afterthought because the hazelnut dacquoise and chocolate ice cream are perfectly paired already.
It was a lovely meal though, capped by red wine. Thank you for the dinner HONOR Philippines and Congratulations to the successful launch of HONOR X9c 5G, The Toughest Phone!
