Rediscovering Chicken in Korea

No pun intended but going to Korea means feasting on fried chicken almost every day. That I learned during my first travel to Seoul but no regrets. In fact, there are some chicken restos that I plan to visit again should I go back to Seoul again.

First on my list is a local ajhussi fave chicken place that my friend and I discovered when we first visited Korea. This resto was near Dongmyo Flea Market. The place was filled with ahjussis feasting on fried chicken and soju. We wouldn't go in but the aroma was so hard to resist. So during our trip to Seoul last month, I excitedly found an excuse to visit Dongmyo Flea Market and eat chicken.

PS. No need to go to Dongmyo because (late discovery) our hotel in Ikseon-dong has a similar (or maybe branch?) chicken place filled with ahjussis also! This time, it was hubby who suggested we eat chicken. Haha

Next on my list is Kyochon. There used to be a Kyochon here in Manila years ago so that's not really a brainer. We also had Kyochon during our first visit to Korea and we loved it. Another round with hubby and friend this time (same location near Seoul City Hall). This second visit to Kyochon was quite memorable because we got caught in the rain! Not just rain but torrential pouring rain and we only have an umbrella between the 3 of us. We were like drowned rats upon arriving at Kyochon but so were the other diners as well. Of course, we paired our chicken wings with soju. Bottoms up!

Then there's BHC which was a short walk from our first hotel. BHC is one of the popular ones in South Korea, with so many branches all over, not to mention it opened its first branch at SM North EDSA (will just wait for the SM Mega branch to open). We wanted the Bburinkle Chicken but it was already soldout when we arrived at the resto. Btw, BHC in Jungo was always full! We got the Gold King and some cheese balls. Not bad, not memorable either.

Moving on to Mom's Touch which hubby really, really loved! Or was it the pizza that he loved? Anyways, for me- the chicken at Mom's Touch was way better than the one we at at BHC.

Lastly, my friend and I was supposed to go to Puradak in Myeongdong (because of Jung Hae-in) but our feet led us to Kkanbu near City Hall. And since we love Kkanbu here in Manila (Solaire Paranaque brance), it was a no-brainer for us.

Then there's the chicken burger at Burger-Ok in Jungo District. Tastes Ok-okay!
