12 Monkeys Music Hall & Pub
So this is where I had my first dinner of the year. I had a scheduled dinner date with my mommy friends from school and we all agreed to meet at Century Mall because we haven't been there yet. Actually, we were planning to eat in another restaurant but it was full when we arrived so we ended up at 12 Monkeys.
Post-Christmas Baguio Foodtrip
I love unplanned trips because there's happiness in discovering not only a lot of interesting places but food and restaurant as well.
Our first stop was in Baguio. We arrived there around 9pm of December 27 and was lucky enough to secure a table at O' Mai Khan along Session Road (near Narda's). The restaurant was quite full and a bit hard to go there because of the traffic.
The kids had chicken barbeque. Didn't get to taste this though because I've had my fill of chicken already and I might grow wings anytime soon. But based on the kids happy faces, I guess the chicken barbeque rocks!

Barcelo Cafe
Conveniently located in Mendiola, Manila, Barcelo Cafe is the Culinary Kitchen of La Consolacion College. This is where the future chefs learn their trade. On most days, especially when there's regular classes (between June to March), Barcelo Cafe is brimming with people. Mostly students and faculty members of the school dine there, then there's the Malacanan employees and other students from nearby schools. The resto has a homey feel about it and the waiters are nice. Also, this is the place where one can eat without being too guilty on the allowance. A meal costs P90, drinks at P30. How cool is that?
Lechon Kawali. A big slice of liempo fried to perfection served with adobong kangkong. Uhhmmm, not that crunchy for me but tasted delish nonetheless.
Spanish Chicken. Don't ask why its called Spanish Chicken. I would've thought its a Filipino Chicken. This is a sizzling dish with some minced sayote with a generous gravy. I mean, swimming in gravy. Tastes good and tender. My daughter enjoyed this dish.

The restaurant may have been popular because of its "sarap to the bones" fried chicken but there are other yummy dishes as well.
Kare-Kare. Good but not quite. I prefer really tender ox-tripe. But then, this is okay also.
Lechon Kawali. Sinful but good. Great paired with the sinigang.

Sinigang na Hipon. I can eat this every day! No need to explain.
Lechon Kawali. Sinful but good. Great paired with the sinigang.
