Amgurls Christmas Get-Together

Met my favorite mommies in Chilis along Missouri in Greenhills two Fridays ago for some pre-Christmas fun.

Bottomless Nachos. These are our default order whenever we dine at Chilis. I mean, these nachos are the coolest when it comes to having endless "chikahan."

Chicken Salad. Hefty serving and delicious too.

Calamares. Yum yum also.

My best mommies a.k.a. Amgurls. These gals are my special friends for we've been together thru thick and thin (literally) for a decade now. There's 12 of us in our group but some are not here in Manila anymore but of course, the deep bond is still there even if we are thousands and thousands of miles apart.

Of course our "chikahan" didn't just end at Chilis, we have to transfer next door to have some coffee while continuing our life updates. We also had a blast receiving Marca Leon Corn Oil from Mommy Lisa. Thank you !!!

Marca Leon Mommies. :)

PS.

We've been using Marca Leon at home for a few years now and I find it quite impressive. I mean, the Corn Oil remains in its liquid form even if it stays inside the fridge for a long period of time.

Boracay's Hidden Gem: Mama's Fish House

I've always wanted to dine at Mama's Fish House in Boracay but wasn't able to for some forgotten reasons already. Then the pandemic happened and we're in lockdown or limited travel movement for almost two years. And guess what? One of the nicest thing to happen on our recent trip to Boracay was to discover that Mama's Fish House was located just outside the beach front of our hotel- Microtel by Wyndham Boracay . Talk about serendipity!

RECIPE: TKG's Pan-Grilled Maya-Maya With Calamansi Butter Sauce

I chanced upon some fresh-looking Maya-Maya being sold near my daughter's school today so I bought some. I don't really have a dish in mind when I bought it. Maybe fried, sinigang ... And upon checking the fridge and pantry (no more olive oil), I decided to marinate the fish in calamansi to remove the fishy taste. I pan-grilled the fish being careful not to burn it. Then I minced some garlic, cooked it in butter, added some salt and poured the sauce on top of the fish. And its ready to eat. And oh, I also steamed some cauliflower as a side-dish. Bon appetit!
