Crystal Jade Dining IN Heralds An Auspicious Feast

UPDATE: Closed

Crystal Jade
is an international franchise that has branches in more than ten countries including the Philippines. The restaurant is well-known for serving authentic Cantonese dishes with a modern twist. The distinct flavors of herbs and spices that is akin to good Chinese food is carefully presented in each of Crystal Jade Dining IN's dishes.

NEW RESTO ALERT: Cafe Naci

Although not a necessarily new restaurant, Cafe Naci found its new home in Greenhills after moving from BGC.

Kani Mango Crunch.  This is a new twist to the famous kani salad and I think they quite pulled it off.

Adobo Cannelloni. Meat is very tender and I love its cheesy-ness.

Smoked Salmon & Potato Pancakes.

Bacon Liempo w/ Garlic Rice.

Peruvian Chicken Rice. This is my favorite as I love paellas, risottos, fried rice .. well, anything that is rice. ;) A great and satisfying meal. Serves 4-5 depending on one's appetite.

Crispy Fried Chicken. Buttermilk goodness that's very comforting especially on a rainy day.

Chef Ed's Pork Shanks. The meat is so tender and flavorful.

Beef Caldereta Lasagna.

Braised Beef Ossobuco.

Mango Panna Cotta. I think it needs more sugar (I have a sweet tooth!). :D

Mini Pistachio Sansrival. This is definitely one of the best sansrival that I've tasted. Good for sharing, and best paired with a cup of coffee.

Amgurls Christmas Get-Together

Met my favorite mommies in Chilis along Missouri in Greenhills two Fridays ago for some pre-Christmas fun.

Bottomless Nachos. These are our default order whenever we dine at Chilis. I mean, these nachos are the coolest when it comes to having endless "chikahan."

Pon de Ring by Mister Donut Cafe

Hubby loves to hang-out at Mister Donut, Greenhills before it was renovated because of the coffee and its proximity to Unimart where we usually buy our groceries. But for some unknown reason, he didn't like having coffee there anymore after the renovation. And it took us (me and daughter) some time before we decided to visit the new Mister Donut Cafe.

Dolor's Sapin-Sapin

I've almost forgotten Dolor's until I chance upon its newly opened stall beside Kookie Corner in Unimart, Greenhills. I excitedly chose a "bilao" of sapin-sapin that is neither too big nor too small.

Flashback early YK2: daughter's fave pasalubong from her tita R was pizza-pink! It took us several bilaos of sapin-sapin before we figured out that she calls it pizza-pink. Pizza because its round and pink because of the light-red sapin-sapin part in the middle. Hahaha. I even remember driving all the way to Malabon just to buy sapin-sapin from Dolor's. Yes, that's how crazy I can be when it comes to food.

Sapin-Sapin. Excellent!

Puto-Kutsinta (kutchinta). Looks nice. Tastes okay for me but not that memorable.

Puto-Ube. Daughter says its okay. Forgot to taste this. But judging from the empty container, I guess its more than okay. :)

Pre-Mother's Day Celebration at Gloria Maris Part III

Fish in Soy Sauce

Scary!!!!!!!!! Hahaha. Hubby was the one who suggest the photo composition.

Fish-Lip Soup. Its okay but I don't want my imagination to run wild. :P

Chicken. Hands-off for me and daughter. Still eating pig and shrimps.

Now this is L-O-V-E. I don't usually eat and like buchi BUT the ones from Gloria Maris changed my mind.

Pre-Mother's Day Celebration At Gloria Maris Part II

Here's what we ate:

Evil Pig! Look at those scary red eyes. On the other hand, this suckling pig is so GOOD. Crunchy and melts in the mouth skin. I'm drooling now!

Pre-Mother's Day Celebration At Gloria Maris Part I

Had another family celebration at Gloria Maris. Its a joint Mother's Day celebration for Tita B and the rest of the married female cousins including me. Of course the rest of the family are present- nephews and niece. Daughter's the lone niece/granddaughter on my side of the family that time.

Hakaw. Good and bursting!

Jellyfish! Yum yum. I can eat the whole platter. Yes, including the platter- hahaha.

Pork Siomai. Its good but I try to avoid pork when there's shrimp. So that means I ate a lot of shrimps. ;)

Beef Balls. Didn't taste this. But seeing the empty container afterwards, I guess its delish!

Steamed Shrimps. Guilty!  I think daughter and I ate almost half of it. Yikes!
Conti's Turtle Pie

So, where's the turtle?

This is one of the yummiest dessert from Conti's. Others may opt for the popular Mango Bravo but hubby, daughter and I love Turtle Pie. Best eaten straight from the fridge, when its very, very cold.

I love the photo. This is one of my favorite food photos that I took. It looks so elegant and delicious at the same time.

Konbini Finds

Instant Miso Soup and Sakura Blossoms Preserved.

One fine day, me and my friend C went to Greenhills. We were supposed to eat at Conti's but we just can't get a table. We then decided to move to Angel's Kitchen. Then while waiting for our food, we sneaked in at Konbini and I found these two interesting items.

Miso Soup. A sachet equates to a small bowl of soup. This is not the powdered type of soup. Its more like the miso (paste form) that you see in the market, except that it tastes better. Just add hot water. Seaweed strips are already included in the sachet.

Sakura Blossoms Preserved. I guess curiosity got me this time. Sakura refers to cherry blossoms. The cute pink flowers. However, cute doesn't mean its delish. SOUR. Super, super sour with just a hint of salt and sugar. I won't be getting this again.
