Saturdate at Mario's Restaurant

I love unplanned "food" dates with my daughter. Actually, we were just supposed to get hubby's surprise birthday cake from Mario's but decided to have dinner there also.

This is hubby's birthday cake from Mario's- Toffee Sans Rival.

Truth be told, I haven't been to Mario's for the longest time. Going there brought back a lot of memories with my parents. While growing up, we used to dine out a lot so I continue the tradition with my family now.

Mario's used to be an old house converted into a restaurant that's along Tomas Morato in Quezon City. I love the comfy ambiance.

Lasagna Pasticciate, P395. Daughter ordered this. Such a huge serving of lasagna! Its cheese-y, meaty, and very delicious. Serving is good for sharing (2 pax).

Chicken Parmesan with fetuccine, P375. I've been craving for chicken so I has this. Portion is good for sharing also. I like the chicken because it tastes like it has parmesan on it but not that salty unlike the other similar parmesan-crusted dishes that I've tried. The pasta also good and the sauce tastes 'light.' Thumbs up for both dishes.

Dark Secret Chocolate Cake, P125. If you love chocolate, then you'll enjoy this cake. It's not really that sweet but this is so perfect with coffee. Daughter and I shared this slice also.

They also offer Sunday lunch buffet (we want to try this soon!). Aside from the nice ambiance, they also have a piano bar when we dined there last Saturday. The man behind the piano was playing old classics. This restaurant is so perfect for that romantic dinner date. *hint* *hint* ;)
