My foodie-heart is happy as I was able to revisit Nanyang Old Coffee, one of my fave kopitiam in Singapore. This lunch is also a birthday treat for my hubby.
It was lunchtime when we arrived so the tables at the ground floor area was full. It was a blessing in disguise though because the second floor area was more Instagrammable. Btw, people really do come here for food, not just for pictures. If you know what I mean.
I wanted to order the Chicken Rendang but it was soldout already. What we got instead was Braised Beef Belly and Pork Mushroom Wanton Mee, then had it upgraded to include Iced Kopi C.
The Iced Kopi C was also good. Refreshing and not too strong, so it pairs well with the food. That was actually my dilemma when I first ate at Nanyang Old Coffee. I was hesitant to pair my bowl of laksa with coffee.
NB: Kopi C is black coffee + sugar + milk while Kopi O is black coffee + sugar.
If you happen to visit Chinatown in Singapore, Nanyang Old Coffee is near the back entrance of Buddha Tooth Relic Temple, and a block away from the entrance of Sri Mariamman Temple. Also, it is best to get a table at the second floor for that old world vibe.
