Touchdown At Johnny Chow

This is where I had my pre-midnight dinner upon arriving from Hong Kong early this month. Really a no-brainer since I'm craving for chinese food and RICE (I felt deprived when I was in Hong Kong). And look at the interiors- I was able to appreciate it this time since there's only 3 tables occupied and that includes us (with hubby and daughter).

Waiting time was not that long since the restaurant was practically empty. But then, its almost midnight and almost everyone's at the cemetery or enjoying an out-of-town trip.

Lechon Macau. This is Johnny Chow's bestseller. The meat was very tender and flavorful, and the skin- crunchy! Daughter said she can eat the whole order herself. The yellow things in the middle are fried pineapples. I guess we all know that pineapple can lower blood pressure. ;)

Johnny Chow's Fried Rice. This is their version of the Yang Chow. I'm not really into fried rice except when its Salted Fish Fried Rice but this is good. A meal by itself. Generous serving also. Good for 2-3 pax.

The Amazing Johnny Chow

Hubby and cousin J and I had a late dinner here the other night. J and I were supposed to join momsie, daughter and Lilith for dinner but they already ordered room service at Maxims and we don't feel like eating inside the hotel room.

So dinner was a choice between Johnny Chow and Johnny Chow-- hahaha. Can't think of any other place to eat. Besides, I've only eaten here once (with momsie, last February) and I didn't have my camera with me and it was a quick dinner since I have work that time. But whatever it is that we ate then had a lasting impression so I vowed to come back and dine in again.

Double Yummy At UCC


Funny thing happened. Daughter had a theatre date with cousins and aunt O. So while waiting for them, me and C had fun exploring Newport Mall and RWM. We had a light dinner at Noodle Works. Then we got tired and decided to have dessert at UCC (will blog about it soon). Went around the mall a bit after dessert and then C left when O texted me that the musicale just ended and she'll text me again where they'll be having late dinner. Hahaha. They ended up at UCC, too. Yes, I know, the food there tastes good. I'm not complaining. ;)

Mango-Kani Salad. Since I'm still full, I just ordered salad. I love mango-kani salad... except that ... the mango was sour. I like my ripe mango sweet. But then, ripe mangoes are unpredictable when it comes to sweetness so its ok. Yum yum crab stick also.

Mushroom Pasta. O's order. Good!

Fried Chicken Omu-Rice. Winner! R ordered this. It was served piping-hot so don't just happily dig-in. ;)

Salmon and Shrimp Omu-Rice. Daughter ate this. She loves anything with shrimp and salmon. However, because the omu-rice has a hint of spiciness, we had it changed to plain rice. Daughter says two thumbs up.

Lengua Omu-rice. O and N was supposed to share this but N ate it all. Delish?

Sugar Crystals. For coffee or for the cakes. Crunchy. Kids love this. :)

Sugarfree Tiramisu. O's dessert.
