RAVE: Dads, Saisaki and Kamayan Greenbelt 3

Earlier this month, I ranted about DADS, Saisaki and Kamayan in SM Mega, but yesterday- I have all but praises for the restaurant's branch in Greenbelt 3.

We love everything especially the callos and kare-kare. The steak was a winner also. The ice-cream section was wonderful. Nevermind the cakes- hehehe. Go for the bibingka instead.

Will definitely dine here again.

Btw, Welcome to the Christian world, baby Maria Mikael !!! God bless you always. :)

ps ...
didn't take photos, been busy eating and chatting with family.

Summer Rain

Its been so hot lately that today's summer rain is a welcome relief.

Actually, it rained last night too and the night before but not in our place. Temperature was really oven hot for the past weeks that there's a special joy in hearing the pitter patter of the rain on the roof. Even our plants in the garden are happy, and even our turtles!

So, do you think that today's rain means that summer has ended?

Oh My Gulay + VOCAS Gallery

We've been to Baguio City so many times but this is our first time to dine at Oh My Gulay.
The past times we wanted to dine was on a Monday (I think), but I suffer senior moment syndrome (SMS) so we always go there on a Monday. NOTE: Oh My Gulay is closed on Mondays.

And aside from being a restaurant, it is also known as the Vocas Gallery.

THE LAST PINE TREE, Benguet + Baguio

I haven't been to U.P. Diliman for a very, very long time and I am glad to have attended the opening of our friend's photo exhibit at the Vargas Museum. Also, hubby and I haven't been very visible to the art and literary circles lately so this is really a welcome treat for us- daughter included.

Personalized Note Cards

Thank you to Ms. Jane Go of Sugargospice.blogspot and Paper Treats for the lovely notecards. :)

Sometime last March. Ms. Jane posted a contest on her blog from which I and four others, won a set of personalized note cards from Paper Treats.

And here are the cutey note cards ...

*** super late post!

Pon de Ring by Mister Donut Cafe

Hubby loves to hang-out at Mister Donut, Greenhills before it was renovated because of the coffee and its proximity to Unimart where we usually buy our groceries. But for some unknown reason, he didn't like having coffee there anymore after the renovation. And it took us (me and daughter) some time before we decided to visit the new Mister Donut Cafe.

A Foodaholic's Vignettes Of The Past Part I

I've been trying to recall how my love affair with food started because there are times when daughter asks me about it.

Hmmmm ... having a senior moment now- help!

But I'll try. One of my best memorable food and restaurant experience was at the restaurant of Good Earth Emporium. Ayan, buking na my age! hahaha. Anyways, Good Earth Emporium was a nice department store along Avenida (near Carriedo) in Manila. Aside from being a department store, it also had a sort of arcade with rides and a carousel (hope I'm not mistaken here or maybe I'm thinking about Quad?). Anyways, there's this restaurant inside Good Earth Emporium (not sure if its called the same, too) that serves Chicken-in-a-basket. This was my favorite and one of my most memorable food experience. The fried chicken pieces was served in a basket, hence the name. I love going to the Good Earth Emporium with my father especially on Saturdays because he usually brings me to his office along Avenida. And while he did his work, I was left to play with pens and papers and there's the promise of lunch or dinner at Good Earth or Quan Yin Chay in Soler Street.

Yabu-ness & Swensen's Day

It is not always that "I" gets to join us for breakfast or lunch or even just plain lakwatcha because of the tweenies. But today was an exception because it is Report Card Day.

I'm happy and proud to say that daughter's marks and general average are more than okay and she ranked 12th in class. Not bad, not bad. Hehe. Actually, I think its great since she studies on her own and I seldom check if she's doing her homework or not, not check if she's reviewing for quizzes/test or doing something else that she's not supposed to do. But she did well, and I'm a proud mummy!

Art's Cream Gallery

Because we don't want to go home yet and because we've heard that today's temp reached 37 degrees, we opt to stay at Robinsons Magnolia until closing time. This is our first time to try the gelato at Art's Cream Gallery.

Tummy Pleasures

Had a nice time chatting with C over buffet breakfast today at Ramada Central Manila. Lucky me- I got to eat (a lot) their crunchy bacon and french toast.

Sorry, no photos of the buffet spread. I had a hard time waking early lately because of the sweltering summer heat. It's like being inside the oven almost every day.

Hubby's Birthday Photoshoot

Daughter and I wanted to treat hubby to some wine, tapas and paella but he has other plans for his birthday. And since he is the celebrant, we have no choice but to tag along. ;)

Luckily, it was a great decision on his part and I also got to take a lot of nice photos. Hubby also brought along his camera so its like a birthday photoshoot. Coolness!  I'm sharing some photos:

RANT: DADS, Saisaki & Kamayan Mega

We haven't eaten here for a very, very long time so we were super excited when we got invited to a birthday dinner. Alas, we are not happy with our dinner tonight. :(

Except for the tempura and kare-kare (very tender tripe), the rest of the food either tastes bland, salty, bland, salty. Really, everything tastes the same or lack some flavor.

Another saving grace (for me) was the ice-cream. I love the mocha ice-cream and had a generous sprinkle of tiny mallows, chocolate bits and gummy bears. Had to servings of ice-cream.

*** We're not coming back to dine here again.
*** Didn't have the heart to take food photos.

Baguio Sojourn

As soon as daughter's school ended last March 20, daughter and I packed our things and went to Baguio City for a much needed rest and foodtrip. Hubby followed a few days after and we stayed there until the day after Easter.

As usual, we had lunch at Brent's cafeteria. Had my fill of vegetable salad, beef and fish fillet. Yum yum.
