Cherry Shaw Is Now Open

Cherry Shaw's reopening has been nostalgic for me. I grew up near the area and this grocery is quite memorable as I've spent countless trips here with my parents. My happiness then was filling the cart with cookies, chocolates, and other goodies that attracted me as a child, whereas my mother tried to quickly put it back on the shelf when I'm not looking. And when my daughter Isabel was old enough to accompany me in my grocery trips, I actually did the same routine of removing some items from the cart- hahaha. Me and my cousins also spent numerous grocery shopping dates at Cherry Foodarama, then having some quick snack there. I also remember the "castanas" stall because my father always asked me to buy him a kilo or two.

And after months and months of waiting for Cherry to open at its new and bigger location (just several steps away from the old location), Cherry Shaw finally opens its doors once again, and this time, they are staying for good.

The new Cherry Shaw is now managed by SM Markets, and has a wider array of offerings such as fresh fruits, vegetables, meat & poultry, seafood, grocery items which includes Tesco products, a favorite brand in the UK, home, furniture and appliances section, and a whole lot more. There will also be a bills payment counter for the shoppers added convenience and Watsons Pharmacy. What's more, Cherry Shaw has a bigger parking space for everyone.

Grocery shopping at the new Cherry Shaw is also very nice since the aisles are wide, spacious, and well-lit.

Aside from offering a whole new experience of grocery shopping, Cherry Shaw also has a foodcourt aptly called- FOODarama. And Elars Lechon will open at the foodcourt soon. Yes!

Aside from Cherry Shaw, Cherry Congressional is also set to open this week. The new Cherry stores promise to deliver excellent customer service accompanied by a wide range of products to its shoppers. The old Cherry stores also had a make-over to keep up with the times and continue delivering satisfaction to their loyal customers.

Salcedo Market x Legaspi Market Tour

We haven't visited the weekend markets for years so I was giddy with excitement because I was able to visit both Salcedo and Legaspi markets this month, thanks to our Dusit Thani Manila staycation . To differentiate the two, Salcedo market  is held every Saturday at the Jaime Velasquez Park in Salcedo Village Makati while Legaspi market is held every Sunday at the Corinthian Carpark in Legaspi Village Makati. Since we were coming from Dusit Thani Manila, it was quite a long walk but it was early in the morning (around 8AM) and even Ayala and Makati Avenues were still without cars. Wow!

Boracay's Hidden Gem: Mama's Fish House

I've always wanted to dine at Mama's Fish House in Boracay but wasn't able to for some forgotten reasons already. Then the pandemic happened and we're in lockdown or limited travel movement for almost two years. And guess what? One of the nicest thing to happen on our recent trip to Boracay was to discover that Mama's Fish House was located just outside the beach front of our hotel- Microtel by Wyndham Boracay . Talk about serendipity!
