Cherry Shaw's reopening has been nostalgic for me. I grew up near the area and this grocery is quite memorable as I've spent countless trips here with my parents. My happiness then was filling the cart with cookies, chocolates, and other goodies that attracted me as a child, whereas my mother tried to quickly put it back on the shelf when I'm not looking. And when my daughter Isabel was old enough to accompany me in my grocery trips, I actually did the same routine of removing some items from the cart- hahaha. Me and my cousins also spent numerous grocery shopping dates at Cherry Foodarama, then having some quick snack there. I also remember the "castanas" stall because my father always asked me to buy him a kilo or two.

Sundate At Tama Yaki
Daughter and I love takoyaki and we haven't had one for quite some time now. Luckily, there's this relatively new place along P. Guevara in San Juan. I'd like to think P. Guevara as the newest food area in town, and its just nearby.
