I'm sure you are more or less familiar with Ikinari Steak because there's a branch at SM MOA but the branch where we had the famous Ikinari steak in in Machida, Tokyo. 

It was way past dinner time when we arrived at Ikinari Steak, so we were able to get a table as soon as we entered the premises. Had we been early, lining-up is unavoidable.

I've fallen in-love with bak kut teh ever since I've tasted it during a trip to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. It was prepared by an 'uncle' who's been cooking bak kut teh for decades. A lot of locals were lining-up and leaving his stall with a steaming bowl of pork bone soup so I had a go, and it was not love-at-first-sip! This is a nice discovery, thanks to my growling tummy. My daughter and I were supposed to meet for breakfast but for some reason, she took the wrong train so I was stuck at Ginza. It was also almost lunchtime and I espied a long line in one of the buildings so the curious and hungry cat followed the line and was transported to a Harry Potter-ish dining hall- Ginza Lion Beer Hall.

After a month of immersing in Japanese cuisine and culture, I'm back in Manila and excited to visit my favorite restaurants. I'm not quite sure how we end up going to Shangri-La Plaza but I was excited to dine at the newly renovated Pho Hoa
