Coming from a 6-day trip in Kuala Lumpur, we packed our bags and flew to Hong Kong to attend a friend's birthday cruise dinner. As for our KL food trip, you can read about it here: KL food discoveries.
Had an eventful flight from KLIA to HKIA alone! Haha, hubby had some retro-moments in KLIA so I traveled alone from KL to Penang, then Penang to HK. No biggie!
The HK trip was in late November and coming from KL which was a bit hot, it was freezing cold when I arrived. I was supposed to go directly to the hotel but decided to wait for hubby's flight which was around noon time of the same day. And being at the airport since 6AM, I think I had my fill of 7-11 and other dimsum food available at the airport. Had a quick lunch with hubby when he arrived, also at the airport. Then off to the hotel we go to have some much needed ZZZZZZZs. Then we joined our friends for late dinner at Ki's Roasted Goose. Yum!
Day 2 was spent at Citygate Outlet with friends (sans hubby). I am not really a breakfast person and I want to enjoy the bed first. Had a bowl of laksa at the food hall in Citygate. The uncle who mans the shop was a bit grouchy so heads up, just in case you crave for a bowl of laksa. The laksa was good though. After spending almost the whole day going around the outlet, it was time to head back to Central to meet hubby and the rest of the birthday team and then had dinner at Central Market. The ramen at Takeroku was delish, as well as hubby's bowl of beef and rice. Central Market is similar to Joel's Place but bigger and more dining and food choices.
The following day, had coffee with newfound friends at Cloud Nine Specialty Coffee. This was just a few steps away from our hotel in Causeway Bay. It was still early so I just had hot mocha (another freezing day!) and a bagel. Chet, on the other hand, had the breakfast bagel with eggs and a side salad plus coffee. Making mental note to try the breakfast at Cloudnine the next time we visit HK. It looks so delish and photogenic! Went around Times Square and CWB to do some shopping then it was lunch at Citysuper where hubby and I shared seafood salad. Btw, the birthday cruise was scheduled tonight so we're warned not to eat too much and have an empty stomach for dinner.
Dinner at Aqua Luna 2 was amazing. Much more so because a friend is celebrating a milestone birthday. Will write a separate post on that. Stay tuned!
Hubby and I was suppose to go to Stanley the next morning but lack of sleep and more than a week of hopping from KL to HK was catching up on us so we just slept the whole day. It was also another cold day so 'masarap matulog!' Got hungry by 6PM and we had pork cutlet meal, fishball soup and dumplings at Hefu Noodles CWB. Then we bought some noms from 7-11 and packed our clothes for our morning flight.
At the airport, we had Bakehouse pastries for breakfast. Yum!
Klook.comThen upon landing and getting our bags at NAIA T3, we had this sudden craving for Filipino food so we had lunch at Via Mare. I had a bowl of goto-arroz caldo, while hubby had beef tapa.
