Last August 15, the Asian Food Channel hosted a special dinner at Chef Jessie Rockwell Club to introduce Chef Bal Arneson who is currently on an Asian AFC Tour.

NEW RESTO ALERT: Dekada

This new restaurant in Fairview Terraces pays homage to Filipino heroes and momentous events from the Spanish era to the 50's till the 90's.

And it also happen to be that we dined at Dekada last August 21 so its a historical day too. Care to guess why August 21st is a National Holiday in the Philippines ;)

Royal Caribbean Jamaican Patties

I haven't been to Jamaica nor familiar with its dishes but its easy to fall in love with its patties. There are branches all over Metro Manila so I'm sure its easy to satisfy one's craving for this meaty goodness.

Food For The Brain

Last August 19, 2014 while the country commemorated the birth of President Manuel Quezon, Scholastic Publishing marked its annual Scholastic Readers Cup at The Rockwell Tent.

The event was literally a dream come true for a bookworm like me as we were treated to a book fest, both visually and ...

Bistro Remedios: Celebrating 30 Years

Located in historic Malate, Bistro Remedios is one of the remaining "old" establishment along Remedios Circle and Adriatico since most restaurants there are relatively new with the exception of a few that includes Cafe Adriatico. The restaurant's charm lies solely on its Filipino comfort food dishes that can make one nostalgic and reminisce about childhood and lolas (grandmothers) who spend hours and hours of cooking in the kitchen. Those were the days when food preparation at home was serious affair and ingredients were fresh and not bottled nor in sachets.

Mad For Pizza

Creating your own pizza is definitely thrilling and really maddening (in a nice way, of course).  Read my experience here.

Aside from creating your own pizza at Mad For Pizza, this restaurant also serves numerous dishes that will tastes equally great as their pizzas.

NEW RESTO ALERT: Mad For Pizza

The concept at Mad For Pizza is quite interesting --- your creativity will be challenge while you try to create what's the best pizza for you (dough, sauce, toppings).

Barely 3 months old, this pizza place is getting a lot of mileage already from foodies of all ages.

Reunions With Carlo Rossi Sweet Red

PRESS RELEASE:

Thunderous laughter, sweet tears of joy, an endless weave of stories, and the passage of time become irrelevant as though the earth has temporarily stopped from its tedious orbit around the sun. These are the glorious moments when friends and family suddenly find each other, whether planned or by surprise, in one table sharing precious moments. Reunions, in other words, are priceless. Bestselling author Jerry Spinellie described it better when he wrote in his book Love, Stargirl: “May our reunion be not a finding but a sweet collision of destinies.”

FOOD FINDS: Double Chocolate Salted Caramel Cookie

I'm not really sure when Starbucks started offering this cookie but its l-o-v-e at first bite.

RECIPE: Lola Virginia's Chicken Relleno by Romulo's Cafe

Chicken Relleno is one of the food I grew up with especially when we have family gatherings or simply when my mother or aunt wanted to feed the family a special dinner. Alas, its also one of the dishes that I haven't tried cooking and of course, my mother didn't leave her recipe behind.

But thanks to Romulo's Cafe and The Maya Kitchen for sharing this Chicken Relleno recipe.

vOffice For Food Entrepreneurs

Food businesses including small scale ones are required to have an office address. Also, it is just fitting to entertain your client to your office instead of meeting in a coffeeshop or a restaurant where presenting your ideas uninterrupted is next to impossible.

So vOffice comes to the rescue.

NEW RESTO ALERT: Tim Ho Wan

So it took me two months before I was able to dine at Tim Ho Wan in SM Megamall after it opened last May 2014. Also, I wasn't able to try this dimsum restaurant when I went to Hong Kong last year. Tim Ho Wan became a sought-after dimsum restaurant especially after it was given a Michelin Star, thus becoming one of the cheapest restaurant's with a Michelin Star.

Introducing Citrus Australia

Sweet. Safe. Healthy. These are the three words that best describe Australian Oranges.

Sweet. Really sweet tasting oranges and mandarins. I don't usually like oranges because most tend to be sour (hello Vitamin C) but these are really sweet. No kidding.
