FOOD FINDS: Chowking's Happy Pao

I have a fascination with pandas so I was curious about Chowking's recently launched Happy Pao. A piece costs P37. There's a Chowking branch near our place but since we don't go to that area often it took me weeks before I was able to get myself a Happy Pao.


Bistro Ravioli

I've been hearing a lot of great food reviews about Bistro Ravioli but wasn't able to dine until early this month. The restaurant's been in the business for years already and they've gained a steady flow of loyal ravioli enthusiasts since then.

So what's a ravioli?


NEW RESTO ALERT: Slammin' Mini Burgers

This newly opened burger corner in Promenade (entrance going to Citibank) is not really new especially if you visit Greenhills often like we do. It used to be called Slammers and was located near the old TimeZone.

What I love about Slammers, now called Slammin' is their mini burgers. I mean, I have difficulty in finishing a big one so these mini burgers are perfect for me. Easy to share also. :)



L'entrecote At The Maya Kitchen

The Maya Kitchen presents the unique cuisine of Chef Martin Kaspar of l’entrec├┤te Corner Bar & Bistro onSeptember 27, Saturday,9am-1pm.
Chef Kaspar will demonstrate Baked Mussels Au Cafe De Paris Butter, Shrimps Piri Piri, Beef Stroganoff, Marinated Salmon on Lemon Risotto and Duck Liver on Potato with Caramelized Onion, Calamansi and Berry Glaze. 
            A native of Baden, Switzerland, Chef Kaspar is part owner of l’entrec├┤teCorner Bar & Bistro located at the Burgos Circle, Forbes Town Center, Bonifacio Global City. He also teaches at the Alain Ducasse Culinary Institute at Enderun College.

NEW RESTO ALERT: Shrimp Shack

Shrimp Shack gives shrimp lovers a chance to enjoy burgers and other delights such as pasta with- what else, but shrimp! And another good thing, there are other yummy items on the menu for meat-lovers too. :)

This new restaurant is located in Market Market in Taguig and is fronting Serendra so its not that hard to find.




FOOD FINDS: Chips Ahoy Mint Chocolate Chip

I fell in love with Chips Ahoy Rootbeer Float but this one is the best for me ... well, I love mint, that's why. :)


Best paired with a glass of cold fresh milk.


NEW RESTO ALERT: Giovanni's Bar & Ristorante

The Araneta Cubao area is fast becoming competitive when it comes to food choices so its no wonder that an authentic (yes, authentic) Italian bistro opened up recently at the Manhattan Parkway, the new condo right after the LRT station.

Giovanni's Bar & Ristorante is owned by Signore Giovanni who is married to a lovely Filipina. This is their newest baby.

For the whole month of September, dimsum-lovers can avail of Crystal Jade Shanghai Delight's Weekday Dimsum Plus Buffet from 6pm-9:30pm Monday to Friday for only P488+. And for an additional P100, you can also add a serving of Chef's recommendation dish, unlimited fried rice and free-flowing iced or hot tea.

The name doesn't sound like a Korean restaurant which Leann's Tea House is but after the initial shock and seeing the menu, you'll know that you're in the right place.

Having only opened last April, this restaurant has already gained its share of loyal patrons.




Barbara's Takes You Back In Time

The Walled City of Intramuros is Manila's pride when it comes to culture and history, and it also happens that Intramuros is a favorite destination of balikbayans, tourists, and even locals. Aside from the old structures, Fort Santiago, churches, and museums, it also offers a number of notable restaurants such as Barbara's.

Located just a few steps away from San Agustin church, Barbara's is known for its old Manila glamour. Think Maria Clara and Crisostomo Ibarra.

We've been using Lock&Lock since daughter started going to toddler school and that's more than a decade now. I can attest to its fine quality and durability when it comes to frequent use. They are also known as the airtight containers which makes it a popular choice of mommies with young children who has the habit of going home with leaky snack containers. And over the years, I've accumulated tons of these containers which also uses non-harmful plastic, the BPA-kind. Thumbs up!


So the excitement was there when I attended the special cooking demo of Chef Kalel Chan at Kabila Restaurant using CookPlus and Glass Line of Lock&Lock.

Famous snack food movie kiosk Taters recently celebrated its 20th anniversary with a Le Grand 20 Anniversary Festival held at the Trinoma Activity Center in Quezon City. The whole day celebration includes exciting activities, games, surprises, and of course, our fave snacks from Taters which was generously offered during the anniversary event. 

PACE in the 2014 Philippine Culinary Cup: Learning Never Stops!

The Food Festival has an exciting line-up of mouthwatering creations from more than 50 restaurants joining the event. Each restaurant will present  a specially created dish just for the Food Festival so be sure to drop by and have a feast.

Bistro Ravioli prepared Chorizo Ravioli with Creole Shrimp in Vodka Cream Sauce. The chorizo ravioli is loaded with herbs and spices that its makes an interesting combination. And you can't go wrong with the shrimp and the vodka-based sauce. Mangiamo! Perfect dish for a romantic date too. ;)
