The kids are back to school once again and most moms needs to be creative when it comes to preparing healthy and delicious "pambaon" meals for our kids. Easy and quick-cooking meals are also favored by most moms who wake up early to prepare not only their kids "baon" but prepare their kids for school as well.

FOOD FINDS: Green Tea Ice Cream and Caramel Chews

Visiting a Japanese grocery is like a goldmine for a foodie like me. I don't have a favorite place but I get my items from Konbini in Greenhills, Darumaya in Cartimar, Pasay City and Teppen in Makati.

Daughter and I have been complaining about the sudden closure of Jash Mart along Wilson so we can't have our Meiji ice cream fix as much as we'd want to.

Happiness in a cup. We espied this cup of green tea ice cream along with red bean ice cream in the freezer of the Japanese grocery in Little Tokyo.

What can be a more fitting celebration for Philippine Independence Day than dining at our very own Filipino Restaurants and savoring our history through sumptuous Filipino dishes.

Aristocrat for its famous chicken barbeque.

Casa Roces for its beef tapa or tapsilog.

SIEM REAP: Blue Pumpkin

My friend and I discovered Blue Pumpkin during our first foray in the busy streets of Siem Reap. The first branch that we saw was a few steps away from the Old Market. This boulangerie is popular in Siem Reap as it has numerous branches including the one at the airport. The prices are reasonable and way cheaper than the ones here in Manila (seriously).

Eat Fresh Hong Kong Famous Street Food

One of our favorite dining and take-out place is Eat Fresh near Wilson St., San Juan. This restaurant is always full especially during peak hours so its either you go there early to secure a table, wait in line, or order take outs. And the best part- you can eat a very filling meal here without breaking your wallet.

PR: Celebrate With Carlo Rossi

Wine is often associated with celebrations, milestones and happy occasions especially here in our country. Crafted from grapes cultured in California where the sun nurtured the tiny fruits to perfection to assure you of wines bursting with flavor and aroma, Rossi Sweet Red has just the right amount of alcohol content and therefore won’t leave you heavily drunk even after finishing a bottle with friends or love ones.
